City of Toronto Rebate Programs

The City of Toronto offers relief programs to help eligible low-income seniors and people living with disabilities reduce property tax, water, and solid waste costs. Review the programs below and apply through the City’s Property Tax & Utility Relief portal.

1

Property Tax Relief

Eligible homeowners may qualify to cancel or defer property tax increases. Applicants must meet the City’s combined household income, ownership, account standing, age, pension or disability requirements.

2

Solid Waste Rebate

Eligible homeowners may qualify for a rebate on the solid waste portion of their utility bill. Small, medium, and large garbage bins may qualify. Extra-large bins are not eligible.

3

Water Rebate

Eligible homeowners may qualify for a rebate on the water consumption portion of their utility bill. Your home must have metered water service and use less than

400 m³ of water per year.

Please note: Eligibility is determined by the City of Toronto. Applicants must meet all program requirements and reapply each year.
