About Nick

Nick Mantas is a proud lifelong resident of Scarborough-Agincourt with a deep commitment to community, collaboration, and inclusive growth. Raised in the very neighbourhood he now represents, Nick's public service philosophy is rooted in working together with residents to build a vibrant, safe, and forward-thinking city.

 

A graduate of York University with a degree in Economics, Nick has pursued advanced studies in international relations, shipping finance, and Islamic finance, including work at Harvard University and institutions abroad. This global lens informs his vision for Scarborough as a place where economic innovation meets cultural preservation.

 

Nick is passionate about building strong communities through youth engagement, local partnerships, and strategic investment in technology and education. He is a vocal advocate for youth sports, recognizing its role in fostering leadership, discipline, and community spirit. He also champions innovation and emerging technologies as vital tools for job creation and long-term prosperity, ensuring that Scarborough-Agincourt thrives as part of a future-ready Toronto.

 

As a City Councillor, Nick is a dedicated member of the Economic & Community Development Committee and proudly serves as Vice-Chair of the Scarborough Community Council. He represents the City of Toronto on several important boards and committees, including:

 

•Greater Toronto Airports Authority, Board of Directors

•Canadian National Exhibition Association, Municipal Section & Board of Directors

•FIFA World Cup 26 Toronto Host City Committee

•Toronto Zoo, Board of Directors

•Toronto Regional Conservation Authority, Board of Directors

 

His appointment to the FIFA 26 Committee reflects his belief in global events as catalysts for youth inspiration, local economic development, and intercultural pride.

Nick's leadership style emphasizes collaboration - bringing residents, institutions, and businesses together to solve problems and seize opportunities. Whether it's supporting the development of the Bridletowne Community Hub, enhancing transit and road safety near schools, or working to preserve local landmarks and cultural heritage, Nick leads with transparency, accountability, and a deep respect for the voices of his constituents.

 

Guided by a vision of Scarborough-Agincourt as a thriving, inclusive, and resilient community, Nick Mantas continues to advocate for smart growth, equitable opportunity, and a city that reflects the hopes and talents of all its people.
