About the Event

The City of Toronto is launching its first ever Toronto Building Permit Week from March 22 to 28, highlighting the important role building permits play in keeping construction safe, compliant, and built to last.

Whether you are planning a home renovation, addition, or new project, building permits help ensure that work meets safety standards, follows zoning rules, and protects both homeowners and the broader community. This initiative is about helping residents better understand the process and get the right information before starting a project.

By increasing awareness and access to information, the City is making it easier for residents to build safely, avoid costly mistakes, and navigate requirements with confidence.

An opportunity for education

Starting construction without the proper permits can lead to delays, added costs, or even the removal of completed work. Taking the right steps from the beginning helps protect your investment and ensures your project meets all City requirements.
